Ben Cormack - has a passion for getting people moving and using and understanding movement as an important tool to help others. Originally from a fitness background, Ben has gone on to study Sports therapy and widely in the fields of rehabilitation, pain science and movement over the last 15 years.
Ben owns and runs Cor-Kinetic, an educational company who use modern research into pain, movement and neuro sciences to provide a reasoning process and rehab skills to those who also place a priority on using movement and exercise as key competencies. Cor-kinetic have provided educational services for the NHS, Elite level sports clubs and universities as well as individual physio’s, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, sports therapists, rehab, and personal trainers.
Jonathan Fass, PT, DPT, CSCS - is the former Private Physical Therapist and Sports Manager of His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, billionaire investor, philanthropist and humanitarian. He is a graduate of the first Doctoral Class in the City University of New York's Physical Therapy program and attended his Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency at the University of Delaware, one of the top-ranked physical therapy programs in the nation.
Jonathan is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a Certified Health & Fitness Specialist (HFS) through the American College of Sports Medicine. He has guest-lectured at Rutgers University and Drexel University as well as at APTA's Combined Sections Meeting, and has been featured in both Men's Health and Men's Fitness magazines.
Jason Silvernail DPT, DSc, FAAOMPT - qualified with a Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University Of Scranton Pennsylvania in 1997, and he has been in practice as a physical therapist since then. He completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree in 2006. He was selected for the prestigious Army-Baylor Doctoral Fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy at Fort Sam Houston for subspecialty training and graduated in 2010, earning him both a Doctor of Science degree from Baylor University and Fellow status in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists.
Dr. Silvernail is a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
He is a career military officer, practicing in the US Army since 1998, and has been stationed across the United States, Europe, the Middle East and in Afghanistan. Dr Silvernail has worked with a wide variety of patient populations and settings including orthopedic/sports, chronic pain, amputee and neurological rehabilitation, and strength and conditioning.
A clinician and researcher, he has published clinical commentaries and original research in the medical literature (including the Journal of Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy, Manual Therapy, and the Journal of Manual and Manipulative Therapy) and he has a prominent professional presence online where you can connect with him on Facebook or Twitter.
Dr. Silvernail is married to Carolyn T. Silvernail, who is a graduate student at American University with degrees in Exercise Science, Digital Film and in Music Performance. They live in the northern Virginia area and enjoy hiking, fitness, and ballroom dancing. Nick Tumminello is known as the “Trainer of Trainers” and is the 2016 NSCA Personal Trainer of the Year. He’s the owner of Performance University International, has published over 200 articles, 15 DVDs and is the author of Strength Training for Fat Loss and Building Muscle and Performance. In addition to teaching at events across the world, Nick trains a select group of clients and athletes, and runs a mentorship program for fitness professionals in his hometown of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Karen Litzy (panel moderator) started her physical therapy career in an inpatient hospital in Scranton, Pa. She moved to New York a few years later and had the opportunity to work for the New York public school system, Broadway musicals and orthopedic outpatient clinics.
As part of her commitment to her clients and her career, she is constantly engaging in continuing education. She has been lucky enough to learn directly from some of the best in the profession. She has received certificates from Dr. David Butler, Dr. Lorimer Moseley, Dr. Adriaan Louw, Dr. Paul Hodges, The Institute of Physical Art, The American Physical Therapy Association, Hospital for Special Surgery, and many more. She graduated from Misericordia University with her masters degree in Physical Therapy in 1997 and then graduated from the same university in 2014 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
She is the host of the podcast, Healthy, Wealthy, and Smart. The podcast provides up to date clinical information combined with business strategies from the best and brightest thought leaders in physical therapy, wellness and entrepreneurship. The show promotes the profession and provides a channel to get the most accurate information out there for both practicing physical therapists and everyday people.
Dr. Litzy is a proud member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the Orthopedic Section of the APTA, the Section on Women's health, the Home Health Section and the Private Practice Section of the APTA. She is also an official spokesperson for the APTA as a member of their media corps.
